Distilling School - Class Description
Our distilling classes are designed to provide a foundation to individuals wanting to learn about distilling and the craft industry. As operators of a grain to the glass distillery we are able to provide the complete experience for prospective distillers.
The 45th Parallel Distillery Distilling School now offers distilling classes, set up as two day classes. Classes are conducted in our fully functioning distillery. Your primary Instructor is an experienced distiller and business owner.
Students are welcome to actively participate with or observe production of distilled spirits from a grain source. Open discussion and Q&A between students and the Instructor is encouraged.
We understand you will not be able to absorb all the information and will have questions down the road, so written instruction will be provided and limited follow up consulting is included in the price.
In this comprehensive distilling course, our topics will include:
Mashing & Fermenting
Distilling: Pot and Column
Blending: Water Treatment
Bottling & Packaging
Distillery: Set-up & Equipment
Business Planning: Start-up and Costs of Goods Sold
Raw Materials & Disposal
Distribution
Government: Gauging, Reporting and Permits
